its kind of cool that we are getting new members here. can we get more?? also II was wondering should I change the name to "a pissed off servers society"? I realized from ssome of the conversations earlier that maybe it should be a little less gender specific. any other suggestions???

Re: new members
Mon, July 12, 2004 - 10:17 PMPissed off? Pissed off doesn't even start to describe how most servers feel. How about "murderous?? Offended by that?
I've been humiliated, ridiculed, ripped off, and any other degrading thing a person has had happen to them (do include saliva, vomit, and snot in any senerio in your mind).
Why?
It's because I'm a bartender, who also does tables.
I have learned humility from the food/bar business. I've learned how to communicate with my fellow man.
I've also learned how to poison people, rip off credit cards, and stick my unwashed penis I took out of my girlfriend and into a beverage, while still keeping a smile on my face.
There is no Lincoln, King Jr, Mahatma, Moses that can free us from this slavery. If anything we are punching bags for people who need to pick on others who are weak, so that they themselves can feel better about themselves.
That's when I swipe the credit card in the reader I have stashed in my jacket sleeve. I love shoes and hate people!
We don't need to sound "cool" we need to network and fuck over anyone (managers, owners, customers...everyone), that dares effect one of breathren -

Tue, July 13, 2004 - 11:08 AMNot that I have "done" this or anything but uhh when someone is a complete asshole just write down the info, card number, name, exp date, address on a piece of paper and hand it to one of the many homeless folks that are sure to be around your establishment

Tue, September 27, 2005 - 3:03 AMWow, you need to find a different line of work, and not with the public. I have been a server and bartender, and tho I might threaten to do some of the things you say, I would never follow through just because I would hope no one would ever do those things to me! Obviously, I would never intentially do anything to upset my server, but If they are having a bad day or I happen to come in right before they are cut or whatever, I would hope they wouldn't do anything to "get" me. People are annoying and ,sometimes, just down right rude & mean, but do unto others....

Fri, September 30, 2005 - 2:19 PMHoly SHIT! You've definitely got issues. WE ALL COMPLAIN about our jobs, but we still go back day after month after year and keep on doing it, cuz the money is good and the job usually pretty damn fun...however, if you're getting spit on, puked on or otherwqise, you need to call the cops. That can be construed as assault in most states...and getting ripped off is definitely a crime.
Find another job...please!

Re: new members
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 5:16 AMGuys,
I was working for a Dominos Pizza franchise here in England. We're always told that the customer is always right! I got a customer come in complaining that he got the wrong pizza. I remembered making it coz his girlfriend had made the order so I told him I definitely didn't make it wrong. He then starts asking me to do him a deal (it was a limited time deal and it was past the time, plus I was annoyed!). I said no, then he tries to say I had put the wrong sauce on it, etc. Finally he decides he's gonna complain. So I reluctantly tell him my name and when he goes I call my bosses to let them know to expect this complaint and I get told I was in the wrong!!!! I put my notice in that day.
If you don't like your job, get another one. Easier said than done but if you're unhappy/stressed then it can have medical implications over the long run. -

Re: new members
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 6:17 AMGood strategy, if you're not in this predicament: I live and work on a resort way out in the middle of nowhere. I lose my job, I lose my home, and they know it. I gotta eat more shit cos of that. Plus, my old lady spends too much money and we have no emergency saving for getting the fuck out of here. She just had back surgury ( on the job injury!! Score!) and is coming along nicely, god bless her, but we gotta somehow parley this into a windfall, if they fail to promote her like they said they would.
